Reasoning: Which of the following, if true, most strongly supports the claim that the proposal, if carried out, will have the announced effect? 这个题目的结论是:“Shelbyville’s travel agency propose to organize tour groups that only travel to the east sight spot to meet the desire of those tourists.

-----

A. 正确。

A  正确
B cost
D 感觉不对 D选项里面说的是who want go to east spot 而题目说的是 just want to go to east spot 先去西边再去东边不影响参观east spot啊
E shopping mall

选A

Question: ... most strongly supports the claim that the proposal, if carried out, will have the announced effect
What's the announced effect? In other words, what's the purpose (goal) of this proposal?

Shelbyville’s travel agency propose to organize tour groups that only travel to the east sight spot to meet the desire of those tourists
Here's the announced effect: "to meet the desire of those tourists"
those tourists = "a great many tourists" who "just want to go to the east sight spot"

Therefore, all we care is their desire - "just want to ..."
Other things such as attractions along the highway (C) and shopping center (E) are out-of-scope, let alone considerations such as costs (B) or the already-established necessity of serving those tourists (D).

Choice (A) is perfectly written in a way that focuses on the desire of those tourists. We know that those tourists just want to go to the East sight, but do they have additional desire? (A) addresses this issue.

Travelling cost in (B) is orthogonal to the announcement. Attraction along highway(C), if true, would only weaken the proposal. Consumers' predilection(D) does nothing with tourists' behavior. E will enhance the validity of this proposal, but it is not the strongest since shopping center is not the critical issue in this proposal.

A clearly rules out other possibility that the tourists will want to visit west sight afterward.

我选A

Since a great many tourists just want to go to the east sight spot, Shelbyville’s travel agency propose to organize tour groups that only travel to the east sight spot to meet the desire of those tourists.

A

The annouced effect is “meet the desire of those tourists”.  So the point relevent to "the desire of tourists" could best support the claim of the proposal.

选B

Type of the question: Strengthen

Conclusion: Shelbyville’s travel agency propose to organize tour groups that only travel to the east sight spot to meet the desire of those tourists who just want to go to the east sight spot.

A: the target clients are the kind who "just want to go to the east sight spot". Logically, they won't require travelling to the west spot as both the tour agency and the clients side should be aware of the previous defined route: only go to the east part.

B: the cost of going to the east only won't exceed that of going the west plus the east. It strengths the agency proposal of the new tourism route. Because the target clients are bearing the wasting of money (the cost to the west+the east > the cost to the east only)and the wasting of their time(travel to the west firstly before to their favorite east sight spot). If the agency provide the new "only to the east"tourism route and moreover the cost is no higher than before, the tourists will like the plan and the agency proposal would be successful.

主要是文中 " will have the announced effect" ,这是站在旅行社的角度, 以广告口吻来说的。 The cost ....will not exceed...

A. Tourists who just want to go to east sight spot will not force their tour group to travel to the west sight spot after travelling to the east sight spot.
B. The cost of travelling to east sight spot only will not exceed that of travelling both to the east and to the west.
C. Almost all famous local attractions are scattered along the highway to the east part of Shelbyville, these are what attracts the tourists most.

E. In east part of Shelbyville, a large discount shopping mall, which can attract tourists from other cities to the mall, will be built in 2 years.
reasoning chain:
because:some tourist just want to go to the eastside spot
so:agency set up a tour to meet their need.
choice:C
A the plan will be excecute smoothly
B the plan is not surprisingly expensive
C it is a good choice to have a trip this way for consumers
D it has profits for companies.
E irrelevant
