标题: [求助]in order that 和 so that 的区别
请教in order that 和so that的区别.

除了in order that 比 so that 更加formal以外,还有什么其他的区分吗?

in order that 可以放在句首,而so that 不可以,

1\171. In 1527 King Henry VIII sought to have his marriage to Queen Catherine annulled so as to marry Anne Boleyn.
(A) so as to marry
(B) and so could be married to
(C) to be married to
(D) so that he could marry
(E) in order that he would marry
2\According to the author, which one of the following is required in order that one be a professional?

如果在句子中,in order that 和so that 还有什么更具体的区别吗?

字典上的解释:so that   (1)In order that:(2)With the result or consequence that.

eg: He is so naughty that I just can not bear it any more.

67. Congress is debating a bill requiring certain employers (provide workers with unpaid leave so as to) care for sick or newbom children.
(A)    provide workers with unpaid leave so as to
(B)    to provide workers with unpaid leave so as to
(C)    provide workers with unpaid leave in order that they
(D)    to provide workers with unpaid leave so that they can
(E)    provide workers with unpaid leave and
解释这么说: in order that they, as used in C, is imprecise and unidiomatic.

171.  In 1527 King Henry VIII sought to have his marriage to Queen Catherine annulled (so as to marry) Anne Boleyn.
(A)    so as to marry
(B)    and so could be married to
(C)    to be married to
(D)    so that he could marry
(E)    in order that he would marry
Although E uses an appropriate conjunction, in order that, the verb form would marry is unidiomatic and illogical

那么, 问题就在于这两个题本身上面, 我发现OG67, 施动者employers, 被动者workers, 而后面的so that从句的主语要求是workers, 这样, 造成in order that不可以, 而只能用so that.
相对的OG171里面, 施动者KIng, 被动者queen, so that的主语he(King), 这时in order that 就可以和so that互换了.

我以为in order that 在GMAT中都是错的,
so as to 前后必须相同主词,so that 则不一定。

即IN ORDER THAT表目的, 而SO THAT 既可以表目的, 也可以表结果, 适用范围更大.
我想在SO THAT 和IN ODER THAT 都出现在选项中时, 优选SO THAT, 只有当SO THAT 选项有明显错误时, 再考虑IN ODER THAT

171.  In 1527 King Henry VIII sought to have his marriage to Queen Catherine annulled (so as to marry) Anne Boleyn.
(A) so as to marry
(B) and so could be married to
(C) to be married to
(D) so that he could marry
(E) in order that he would

按照rabbitbug的说法,当so that 前后的主语不一致时,只能用so that不能用in order that 或so as to;当主语前后主语一致时,in order that就可以用了。

so that既可以引导目的状语从句,也可以引导结果状语从句;
so that"

My old father began to study computer at the age of sixty so that(in order that) he might keep up with times.

She had not planned her time well,so that she did not finish her homework on time.

2. 联系OG 67171(不同意bigcamel GG):我认为67171题都表示目的,此时so thatin order that可以换用,但确实ETSin order that 所在的选项都设置了其他错误,67171的错误是相同的,就是:从句谓语中常用情态动词may / might,can /could,should,would等,而

OG67

(C)  provide workers with unpaid leave in order that they

(D)  to provide workers with unpaid leave so that
                they can

相比不是最佳选项;

至于OG171 OG已解释过了would is incorrect, 不如could

(A) so as to marry
(B) and so could be married to
(C) to be married to
(D) so that he could marry
(E) in order that he would

so as to 的前面句子需要是简单句,就是SV形式,这样so as to的施动者清晰,反之则不好。

171. In 1527 King Henry VIII sought to have his marriage to Queen Catherine annulled so as to marry Anne Boleyn.
(A) so as to marry
(B) and so could be married to
(C) to be married to
(D) so that he could marry
(E) in order that he would marry
总结一下,so as to的用法和so。。。as to的稍有不同。 In 1527 King Henry VIII sought to have his marriage to Queen Catherine annulled so as to marry Anne Boleyn.
King Henry VIIIQueen Catherine均有可能作为so as to的主语,但是为了避免歧义并且该题有更好的选项,故弃之。

in order that he would......

(A) it is so debilitating that it has become an economic
(B) it is of such debilitation, it has become an economical
(C) so debilitating is it as to become an economic
(D) such is its debilitation, it becomes an economical
(E) there is so much debilitation that it has become an economical
