标题: 一个大疑问：什么叫Yale的NonProfit强
在谈到Yale的ManagementSchool的时候，其Non-Profit的优势已经成了被口水淹没的招牌。
基本上连外星人都知道这回事情了。
不过，我的疑问是，说YaleNon-Profit强究竟是什么意思？中国的申请者，有几个人是NGO的背景？有几个会在付出高昂学费后从Yale出走至NGO？那么，既然大家都是奔着profit去的，谈到Yale的这个Non-profit强岂不是一件可笑至极的事情？

这么说吧，Yale的non-profit的确是很强，这个和yale在1976年建设管理学院的初衷有很大关系。Yale一开始就明确表示，不希望在耶鲁校园里出现另外一个哈佛商学院，而希望管理学院以全国最佳的法学院为蓝本。我个人认为，耶鲁与一般商学院不同的地方，在于它更多的承担了一种为政府部门培养人才的角色，培养社会的领导，所以non-profit一贯是传统强项。
但是你仔细看看，就会发现，其实Yale的MBA，有40－50％都去做finance了，而真正去从事non-profit工作的只是很少一部分。所以，不要仅仅认为Yale只是一个non-profit的学校，它的finance领域有不少知名教授，在香港几个大投行，尤其是Citigroup, Goldman Sachs以及JP Morgan中校友也非常强大。我本人就是IB背景的，也顺利地拿到了Yale的offer。这两年去Yale的大陆学生，背景也是各种各样。

这位总统绝对不受欢迎，呵呵，在Yale的成绩基本都是C啊。而且这位总统能够去Yale全是靠他老爸，妈的。

其实non－profit的工作很多pay也是很高的，而且工作相当舒服，属于性价比很高的那种，也很好的！

ManyYale SOM graduates are from non-profit background. Some graduates are doing certain management functions for governments or NGOs, such as managing pensions (essentially an investment manager job) or marketing for some NGOs or quasi-gov orgs.
In term of personal investment, careers in non-profit are not as rich as IB or consulting. But there are many people with different passions and that's why Yale wants to help them, in addition to those IB/MC wannabes.
Actually, the career path of for-profit and non-profit are convergent in the long-run. In the later of your career, you want to have good friends in national museums, Fed Reserve, local charity groups, hospitals, int'l environment org, journalists and of course state senators.

According BS information, 70% of Yale MBA graduated students got job offer on graduate day last year. It was lower than other top 20 schools. does anyone have any idea?

International students' job placement is harder to track because many of them go back to their home country. Also, students committed to entrepreneurship might not be counted as employeed because they are in the middle of starting their own businesses by the time of graduation.
