Once positioned in space, the Hubble Space Telescope will capture light from sources twenty times fainter compared to those that can be detected by ground-based instruments.

(A) compared to those that can be detected
(B) compared to those they can detect
(C) than that can be detected
(D) than those that can be detected (Correct)
(E) than those detecting

问题：为什么C选项是错的？

我觉得此题可以是对哈勃望远镜看到的光线和陆地上望远镜看到的光线进行比较，That 指代是 Light 是单数，选C。

D的解释是 Those 指代 sources，之后连接 that 从句。此题是对 than 前后的 sources 对比。但是我觉得 light from sources 这个短语的重点在 light 上，than 的前后是对 light 的比较，而不是sources才对啊。

lz要注意对比的对象，本题对比的光线来源于多处，而不是单一来源，所以用those.
