答案是A

虽然很多人都问了这题，但是我还是没看明白（OG答案也看不明白）
1. 为什么不能用 “in the economy to avoid the recession”？求高人来解释一下~
2. 有关rather to come，有一种说法是：rather单用是表示to some degree，要用rather than才能表达原句的意思

另一种说法是rather后不能跟不定式，也求高人解释一下到底哪个说法更准确？还是说两个都对呀？

关键split：parallelism；verb tense；meaning；that clause vs. noun；
A. 正确
B. in 替换了that，强调重心从一个事实变成了economy，改变句意（强调的是一个clause，不是一个noun，所以这里用confidence in + noun错误）； rather不能作为连词，两个不定式要求平时（这时候需要连词and）； what不能作为noun modifier（that当然可以），语法上绝对错误！
C. in替换错误；earlier in the year原本是verb modifier（修饰many had feared），现在变成noun modifier（修饰something），这种switch让原本正确的过去完成时没有任何time indicator，错误； and前后不平行
D. in替换错误；were fearing时态错误，原文没有给出要使用进行时的暗示；and前面有逗号，要补充完整的主谓
E. with结构用的欠妥，这个it意思上应该是指代economy（但是有指代recession的嫌疑，optional error）；原本的will avoid and instead （will）come的平行表示的是这个economy可能在未来会有这样的趋势，现在把（will）come变成了modifier （with it coming）好像表达的是the economy is definitely coming for a “soft landing”

正确选项中的过去完成时
• 大家来回顾一下，过去完成时的正确使用应该满足以下2个条件的其中1个
• 过去完成时的这个action应该一直持续到，或者它的影响持续到一个更晚一点的过去时态的动作（simple past）
• 过去完成时的这个action持续到，或者它的影响持续到一个更晚一点的（time marker）
• 正确选项中：these fears were ongoing until a certain point that is already in the past（注意这个earlier啊，阴险）

有些人解释说instead后面不能加to，这个是错的，下面是一个正确的例子：

We decided not to eat at the restaurant, and instead to cook our own food at home.
这个句子的后半句（decided）instead to中，instead修饰的是“decided”；所以instead后面是可以加不定式的，不要再用这个错误的知识点了！
