(E) in recent months has increased sharply, and this leads to predictions that foreclosures on that type of loan in the next three years could double
我对比了一下A和B，发现A中的loan是单数，B中的loan是复数，不知道这个对选择有没有影响？

这个不是split，a的问题是 in recent months这个modifier的misplaced

A: in recent month, modifier ambiguous as such modifier may refer to held by companies

when there are two verbs(held and increase), we should place adverbial modifier to make the meaning clear
