( I was shivering all the time when I did this part. I think the short conversations are much more difficult then PP. I can not recall them. Sorry. )

2.production of charcoal: charcoal is made from wood by baking it. water and tar are removed  from the wood, so the carbon proportion raises.

2.Axxxxxx and Bxxxxxxxx, two kinds of coal: plants and ferns deposited under mud with died animals, then transformed to peat. Be careful, there was a question  asking what is one factor influence the transformation of peat. The right answer is "plenty of water" which could not be found directly in the context.

3.Sxxxx music: this music is different from folk music. folk music always is related to labor or worship. Sxxx Music is not. the second paragragh is about the history of American music. the Civil War was mentioned because soldiers from different colonies met in the war and thus propel different music to blend and form the music for the whole America not for individual colony.

阅读方面，我愿意跟大家分享以下感受：

1.个人觉得词汇是基础。
      我在三年前考过一次GRE。当时虽然考了个极惨的分数，可是想不到背的单词（曾被我认为是及其变态，一辈子只会在GRE考试中碰到一次的）却为后来的英语阅读打下扎实的基础。

2.自己感觉有一个习惯令我受益：“猜”
       我在读文章时，不论是泛读还是精读，我从来不查字典；而是坚持通读全文。读完之后，如果发现不认识的单词不影响理解全文，就不用查它们了。因为我已经成功地猜出单词意思，我确信以后若再碰到还能猜到。如果确有影响理解全文的关键词，可以查，但查之前不妨先猜一下。猜错的单词，查过后会记忆深刻的。查单词我用英英词典或金山词霸，为的是同时记住几个意思差不多的同义词。实际上，如果养成了“猜”的习惯，你就会懒得查了，而且你的猜中率会越来越高。我就是这样。有时候，我LG拿一个单词来问我，我不认识；但我如看到上下文，哪怕就一句，马上能猜到意思。他气得要命，现在再考我只会在纸上写一个孤零零的词。我想这就是阅读的能力。另外，这个习惯能大大的提高阅读速度，我不会因为碰到生词而“打磕巴”。

3.Toefl阅读做题顺序：
      a.不看文章先看题；
      b.如第一题是主旨题先放过去不作；
      c.看第二题，读第一段；
      d.做第2、3、4等题（第一段所涉及的所有题），发现第5题第一段解答不了
      e.带着第5题读第二段
      f.依此类推
      最后. 做主旨题
  
      这样安排的依据有三：一、ETS还算有人性，一般按顺序出题。二、许多题干还有题目（如指代题、infer题等）能起到暗示作用，或者是至少点明了重点，到读完全文再看太可惜了。三、这样省时间，留下的时间足够再读一遍全文并检查答案的。

      暂时想到这些，大家凑合着看吧。不一定适合所有人，仅供参考！
