In the 1980’s the rate of increase of the minority population of the United States
was nearly twice as fast aS the 1970’s．
(A)twice as fast as
(B)twice as fast as it was in
(C)twice what it Was in
(D)two times faster than that of
(E)two times greater than
答案是C。
可是～～c中的it难道不精确指代1980年的 rate of increase 么？这样就错了啊。。。

个人觉得，it没有精确指代1980年的哦，in the 1980's 修饰的不仅仅是rate of increase，可以修饰整个句子，这样it精确指代只是指代的rate of increase而并没有加上in the 1980’s
如果前面是the rate of increase in the 1980's的话，后面的it才会精确指代1980‘s的rate
