Most programs do interview a very small pool of people before they make decisions, but sometime they send out some offers even before(or after) they interview other applicants . Timing issue totally depends on their PhD admission schedule. It varies across programs but in general would be in the last round or even when they already have some preliminary ranking(so, in general, quite close to the decision time). I think most of those programs do telephone interview or video conference, so it should not be a problem. |
