A. while there was about one-third of mothers with young children working outside the home in 1975, in 2000, almost two-thirds of those mothers were employed outside the home C. in 1975 about one-third of mothers with young children worked outside the home; in 2000, almost two-thirds of such mothers were employed outside the home 个人觉得AC都对。。 求大神解释一下为毛选C。。 thanks!-- by 会员 小鸢尾 (2012/9/9 21:10:07)
in A . you get a misplaced modifer (in 2000 is set off by a pair of comma;it can attach either to the former clause or to the latter)grammatically not good (but not the fatal mistake)
you should strip the sentence to get the main skeleton
in A:there are mothers(noun modifier;what is working intended to modify? we get an ambiguity);almost two-third of them were employed
here in A,you don't convey the contrast effectively;former just states there are mothers
D:one-third mothers worked outside home;two-third mothers were employed outside home(effective statement, here u get it) |
