问题：正确答案A中的第二个it 为什么就能够指代 The Washington Post, 而错误的C选项中的it就不能指代差不多结构的The Washington Post?

关于C中it指代，有链接讲师确认（http://www.manhattangmat.com/forums/katharine-graham-t2120.html），但是鄙人就是不懂A和C中差不多同样的结构条件下（都是前面一个of the WP),为什么it就一个可以指代WP，一个不能指代呢？请大家帮忙看看谢谢！

这题又长又绕，结构复杂，我是一会作对一会做错。好不容易看的差不多了又被it给迷惑住了

A中两句都是强调句啊,是强调句的并列,强调句中的it不指代任何成分
说的第二个it指的是第一句中的第二个it指的的确是WP
C是that没有指代对象吧~

C has a problematic pronoun (it) - logically refers to Wash Post but structurally could refer to KG or publisher. Also, this sentence indicates that it moved into the first ranks as a result of having won high praise. The original sentence doesn't indicate that meaning and we can't just change the meaning of the sentence.

根据她的说法 A中的it又可以指代WP（跟C中的WP结构一样啊），所以我就看不懂了。
我长用本网站曼哈顿那个网站不熟悉就是上去学习老师的解答。不好在那上面提问（估计也问不明白或者还得注册麻烦的）。所以就回过头来问咱CD 的NN们了请大家帮忙看看C中的it是否有指代的问题？那个老师说的有错吗？谢谢啦

同意C是that的问题
另外就是C和原句意思完全不一样原句前后两方面是并列关系 C变成了从属原句的强调语气和平行在C中都没了
感觉it错误不大不会有人理解成publisher moved into the first rank of American newspapers
C还有个完成时

恩,同意LS的C中it没有问题,因为WP离it是最近的,如果逻辑不出问题,那么是可以有就近原则的~所以同理,A中的it没有任何问题~
C还是that得问题

另外小妹想请教的是，一个句子里面it既可以是代词，也可以是形式主语咯？
