GMAT里面过去完成式与过去式连用不会单独出现（至少我没见过），换句话说就是要有明确的对比来指出过去的过去，才能够用过去完成式。这句话里除去母句was injured three times之外并没有任何分句表示出过去式来给母句做对比，故母句不应该用过去完成时而应该用过去式。 另外，过去完成式其别的考试/语境里面会单独出现，但一定是符合一个前提:明确了这个状态/事件/习惯是发生在过去的过去。
