绿色部分是划线部分的句子。答案是E。看了解释，有点不解了。。
解释：说划线部分是用虚拟语气。

那就不对啦，划线部分应该是从句吧，表示与过去相反的事情，那应该是用had，而不是would have啊。。。

如果是划线部分是主句的话，那前面也没有表示过去的从句啊~~~

这里有一个词 increasingly 表示增加，说明这个公司已经去和别的公司竞争了。但是过去却是想要 conceded to rivals （让步给竞争对手）（没有真的这么做。）
the company 本应该退让却没有退让。所以用虚拟。
they would in the past have conceded to rivals. in the past 指明了过去的时态。
同时整个主句很明显是现在的完成时，所以从句的比较对象是过去。

应该是这样吧？…… 话说，我如果做这个句子，是用排除法的，A B 选项中没有对应they指代的对象。所以排除。C 选项，出现了被动句型，缺少一个人或者物 conceded the massmarket sales。所以排除C选项。（还有就是主动优先原则可以将C选项放置于一边。）D选项改变了 in the past的位置，改变了句意。所以排除。

previously 和in the past 意思重复，it 指代company, they没有指代对象
