后面的as 指代people?

原来as … as 后面这个as 是代词，前面的as 是介词？

as many as (people) are... 这里people被省略了

我的理解是：as many as are enrolled in 是作为一个独立主格结构来修饰前面的people。那么就是说：(as many as) are enrolled in 中的are enrolled 是修饰第二个as，这个as 也就是指代people.

如果如weiyu所说：as many as (people) are... 这里people被省略了

那么，也就是说as many as是连词，连接了两个句子了，那么整个about... 部分在文中起什么作用？

as在这里是准关系代词，准关系代词本是连词，但是它有充当关系代词的作用。相当于一个词当两个词用。

补充250中233：前一个as应该是副词，后一个as是连词（这个我可以肯定），也是我上面提到的准关系代词。它就相当于在as后面省了people that。

我对A为什么错有一点小想法了。A的句意其实和D是不同的。

A是说：二者都是一个对另一个essential。比较的是一个对另一的态度：

——是essential还是inessential？

而D是说：两者一个对另一个的essential的程度一样。比较的是essential的程度。

那么在这种情况下，是不是A需要把was去掉？或者把essential补上？（这有什么理由？：（）

我对此完全没把握。提出来大家要不解余力的攻击。
