Resume template you can use anything. As long as it's clear and easy to read. You can use the MIT one I uploaded (another post) for every school.
Recommendations: Generally speaking they should be between 500-1000 words.
However it can differ from school to school. If no guidelines are provided then make sure your recommender write between 500-1000 words and cover your strengths and 1 weakness.
