选E, 我好不容易理解了as is the case with...这种用法，但是为什么要用would呢？表示虚拟？？

D除了逻辑上不对以外,语法上的错误是助动词省略形式不能被还原,后面的两个动词will和is都不能用would代替.

楼上两位解释后还是觉得不明白为什么E要用would，如果是虚拟语气那应该是跟未来不可能实现的事实，可是，the case确实是可能成为事实的，为什么要用虚拟呢？

好吧，记得白勇书上还说过can和could在gmat里只考时态区别

可是prep里确实看到了它们在语气上有区别的题目

所以我想这也算是个命题趋势，如果语气不是非常的肯定，那么也可以用would了...毕竟ets，gmac从来没说过它们认为can,could,will,would只有时态区别。

虽然还是这种不肯定的语气有点模糊，使用起来不知道会不会有歧义...

至少在will和would这点上是不足以排除选项的

as is the case with...这种用法

怎么理解。。。

我认为这道题是这样的，like得比较要对等，

所以只能用as is the case with...

而谓语would表示虚拟，这在GMAT里是没错的。

所以谓语比较合适的位置就是E,

排除掉明显是错的。

as be the case (with)...是不是一种固定搭配啊？

至于为什么用虚拟语气：太阳没有exhaust...,估计其他恒星也还没有报废，case是对未来的一种推测，所以用would。
