我覺得(e)中it 沒有清處的referent.所以當初我沒選定(e).那知答案就是(e).到底為啥?
(c)不好嗎?

对呀，it 指什么？ A中的them有foods所指，且是主动，不是更好？

E中it 指代what patients eat, 不可数名词用单数. 相对于A, E用了by..., by..., 接的均是名词性从句: what..., when..., 无论从形式上, 还是从意义上, 都比A更符合平行原则.
what... when...从句这里表示的是抽象名词, 而A中的the foods是具体名词.

我覺得有點納悶.以前中學時老師常說代名詞是不可以用來代替句子及動詞
它只能代替名詞.雖然你說it是指"what patients eat".但它畢竟是名詞"子句"
所以你的說法.我還是有點不解?
請大家再幫幫忙討論一下!

what patients eat是一个名词短语，看作一个名词，用it指代应该没有问题

基本同意兔兔的观点，以个人看法做一下补充：
A的by the food patients eat和by when...前面名词+从句，后面直接名词行从句——不平行；
C的by the foods和by time...前面特指，后面泛指——不平行。
