媒体是否太关注名人生活? Many reporters often go into raptures at the mere mention of the personal life about the famous people. They are always propagating their career, family and even scandal. Nothing, they consistently maintain, is more attractive than the coverage upon it. But is it really the case? As for me, the information I've collected over the recent years leads me to believe that the mass media pay too much attention to the personal stuff about the famous people and the issue should be corrected. Nowadays, many experts point out that a number of factors give rise to such phenomenon. In the first place, from psychological perspective, there is a growing need for the public to give insights into the individual life of the famous people. They have the desire to know how these celebrated figures achieved their own ends and whether they are living a luxurious life or not. For instance, there is no doubt that a person who is preparing to start his own business feels like having a good idea of how Bill Gates set up and operate his Microsoft Corporation successfully. Similarly, a younger going after fashion is bound to put the accent on the appearance of those superstars. Accordingly, in order to pursue the maximum profit, the media must report these news to cater to the public taste, for the personal life of the famous people never fails to fascinate us. In the second place, these accomplished people harness the mass media to publicize themselves as well. The conduct of the mass media exerts a profound influence on the famous people and the public. For one thing, there is no denying that laying great store on the famous people makes them under eye-sharped supervision to some extent so that they feel obliged to obey the moral and order and law. Whereas, the media not only encroach their privacy but also violate the laws. Consequently, it is imperative for the media to abide by the standard of the profession and the laws and regulations concerned. For another thing, it is generally agreed the personal life of some famous people set a good model for the public and entertain the people likewise. However, it must be noted that people might be misled by the behavior of the renowned persons. From what has been discussed, we can safely draw a conclusion that effective measures should be adopt and great efforts must be made to rectify the situation. It is better for the public to court more valuable stuff such as advances in scientific research, the life of ordinary people and so on. Simultaneously, the media should lead a bright road for the public like a guiding star. |
