You might want to re-read and re-think on the "Why MBA" and "Why this school" section of your essays to these two schools (and possibly to ALL schools you applied to). If now you aren't convinced by your answer to either of the questions, maybe you should wait for another year to see whether MBA is the right track for you. If you are fully sure about the first question, but somewhat uncertain about the second question, you can probably weigh the following factors: 1. the chance of getting into a "better" school than Ross/Duke if you choose to wait another year 2. what new differentiation can you add to your application, which will get you into this other school that you didn't get in this year? (I assume you applied to some other schools apart from Ross/Duke this year) 3. why do you think this other school better serves your career goal than Ross/Duke? 4. the opportunity cost of waiting another year If you find your answers to both quetions still compelling...then you won't be here, right? Personally, I'd think a school that fits you is much more important than a school that sounds or looks or ranks better. Just my two cents. |
