Before the interview with IE, I had spent much time in reading the related posts on CD, which really helped me a lot both in confidence and skills. Rose to others; fragrance in hands. Just share the correspondence between an applicant and me here. May it help.
¨ How long did it take ? The interviewer said it would take 30-45 mins, but actually it last for an hour. As far as i know, 1 hour is common for most interviews. So pls be ready for such a long talk. Actually, when you’re on the way, you can hardly feel the time goes by. ^_^ Just relax.
¨ Did the accent of the professor affect your understanding ? What do you think if I ask the speaker to talk slowerly ? I believe that the interviewer's English must be understandable, otherwise he'll not be selected the interviewer. My interviewer is a German with a little accent, and somewhat wordy in his expressions. But as long as you grab the main idea of his questions, it’ll be ok. It'll be better if u tell him to slow down (otherwise u put yourself in passive position), but pls note that u r polite enough and not faster than him.
¨ What are the main questions ? Any suggestion from your answer ? Be yourself, and try to be logical. Voice your key points at first, then explain them in details. At least, pls emphasize on your key points by your voice or tone, which will catch his attention. Sorry I can recall a few questions as follows: - Questions about your university (why did u choose it? If u have second chance, will u choose it? Will you recommend it to others? Why?) - Questions about your job (what’s the difference among your positions in the same department/ same company? Why did u leave?) - Questions about yourself (Do u have any overseas experience, traveling, training, or studying… Which Recommendation Letter would u like to choose as the very best one to represent u?) - Question about your capability of team-working and dealing with the heavy workload (Describe how terrible the program is… then ask u why do u believe u can stand out in such rigorous competition or pressure) All the questions may have sth to do with your capability of logical thinking and decision making, and your attitude and understanding of your job/life.
¨ Any other suggestions? Except for the usual questions like “why MBA” and “why now”, pls prepare for the details of your CV. Ask “why, how, when, then” to yourself on every turning point shown on your CV.
In one word, be yourself and be confident in yourself, u’ll make it! ^_^ Good Luck! & Best Wishes!
