Topic: It has been said, "Not everything that is learned is contained in books." Compare and contrast knowledge gained from experience with knowledge gained from books. In your opinion, which source is more important? Why?
According to the limitations of books, it is true that people do not learn everything in books. To some extent, people can learn knowledge from experience in their social activities and work. But in my opinion, that people enrich knowledge by reading books has more advantages in many ways. There are some reasons as follows.
First, the books are the primary media of learning. Since the papermaking technology was originated in ancient china, books have accompanied people a long time. Mainly, people write books in the intention to pass knowledge from one generation to another. Books may contain all things of human and nature. With the development of publication industry, more and more books are issued from stream-of-consciousness novels to popular science readings about the black hole. Thanks to the books that we have not to depend on folklore to proceed our broad and profound cultures. Furthermore, experience is abstract and just useful individually. Usually, people should write down what the experience is to make it explicit and intelligible. Books embody knowledge rather than experience.
Second, as we see, not every person possesses the skill of summarizing knowledge from experience. Hence, students go to school study with their teachers' help. Learning is a gradual process. People should spend many years on the threshold of their lifetime learning the basic knowledge. I cannot image that people do not study the alphabet first. Experience, of course, support you special knowledge. But the foundation of your knowledge need make a systematic study from books. This is the requirement of your career. Moreover, people cannot afford to do something and opportunities are not available. For instance, just astronauts have the chance to go outer space. Nevertheless, people can look at the pictures and description of the moon in books.
Finally, people can read books whenever they want or have time to. People can also choice a nice place to read at ease. However, people who learn through experience may be not so satisfied. Although employees are currently required more experience eligible for their jobs, I agree with the books are more eventful for people to get knowledge.
In a word, books are recourse of knowledge. From children to adults, people all widen knowledge by reading books. Books make people intelligent and happy. Even though the popularization of computer and other electronic reading equipment I certainly believe books will continue to exist and play a significant role in people's life as they do before.
