try more at 50-200 level, to be honest, marketing phd program does not like the person with undergraduate background in marketing, the first reason is most of the indian profs in america are engineering background, the second reason is marketing phd program need strong econ and psycology background. If you would like to do modeling, analytical or empirical, econ background and programming ability is necessary, if you would like to do behavior, you should have psycology background and english ability. The only student I know got the top 50 marketing phd offer directly from china last year is a girl with pku econ bachelor and ccer econ master.
