The key is E. 为什么B不对？难道for example后只能跟名词而不能跟从句？

The key is c. 为什么A不对，是不是directive后不能跟同位语从句？还是应把be改成is？

The key is A. 我印象中副词（除少数时间副词）不能放在be动词前面。they increasingly were engaged 似乎应改成 they were increasingly engaged or they were engaged increasingly。大家以为如何？

The key is E. 为什么B不对？难道for example后只能跟名词而不能跟从句？
B不对是因为FOR　EXAMPLE前后是两个独立的句子，是典型的RUN－ON句子。
如果for example, 前面的逗号改为；就对了。但表达上仍然没有E好。
