我想问一道OG13上的逻辑题第107题：
Although the discount stores in Goreville’s central shopping district are expected to closewithin five years as a result of competition from a SpendLess discount department store that just opened, those locations will not stay vacant forlong. In the five years since the opening of Colson’s, a nondiscount departmentstore, a new store has opened at the location of every store in the shopping district that closed because it could not compete with Colson’s.

Which of thefollowing, if true, most seriously weakens the argument?

(A) Many customersof Colson’s are expected to do less shopping there than they did before theSpendLess store opened.

(B) Increasingly,the stores that have opened in the central shopping district since Colson’sopened have been discount stores.

(C) At present, thecentral shopping district has as many stores operating in it as it ever had.

(D) Over the courseof the next five years, it is expected that Goreville’s population will grow ata faster rate than it has for the past several decades.

(E) Many stores inthe central shopping district sell types of merchandise that are not availableat either SpendLess or Colson’s.

能不能帮我解释一下题干中两个比较的内容是什么意思？我没读懂~~原文的意思是不是说在G这个购物中心的很多折扣店要关门就是因为S折扣店的竞争，但是这些空出来的地方不会闲置太久。然后就做了另外一个比较，自从非折扣店C开张的5年内，很多店也关门了引文竞争不过C？可是答案B是怎么削弱原文的。。。新手上路~谢谢~~

这题困饶过我很久，现在再看见，清晰多了。原文有一个非常精巧的小点，很容易忽略，看最后那句：
In the five years since the opening of Colson’s, a nondiscount departmentstore（同位语修饰Colson）, a new store（这才是本句真正的主语） has opened at the location of every store in the shopping district that closed because it could not compete with Colson’s.
看懂了吗？因为C店所到之处，就会有a new store在以前比不过C而垮了的旧址上开新店。
一定要注意：是 a new store，说明这个store是不同于句子前面出现的Colson的。另外的new store。
好的，理解清楚了这句话，再看题目的逻辑链以及题目问的是什么。

1、逻辑链：背景：G区的折扣店都要关门大吉了，因为竞争不过S店。结论：但是不会关门太久。原因：因为很牛的C店pk不过它而垮了的旧址上，会有a new store 继续开张营业。
2、题目的问题：问weaken。那么weaken的对象就是不会关门太久。换言之，就是支持“会继续关门下去。”这个说法的选项。

请仔细看逻辑链，里面有一个flaw就在于，并没有交代因为C而新开的a new store 究竟是折扣店还是非折扣店呢？
情况一：如果是折扣店，那显然开了张又会被S店击垮。
情况二：如果是非折扣店，那么跟S不存在竞争关系自然就能继续开下去了。
所以关键在于此。

很有感触的是，我在刷prep又发现了一道类似的题，GMAC也是在考察这种“看上去合理的premise其实隐藏了一个事实：那就是premise里出现的影响因子和它要去反驳/ 支持的原结论的影响因子不是同一个东西。” 很可能故意扩大了范围。
我目前做的那题是考察total time和free time，而题干在premise里故意没交代调查结果是不是free time。顺着这个思路就能找到正确答案了。

这是GMAC的一种比较tricky的考题类型。弄明白了就能举一反三了。
为了方便你理解，我把这道类似的题附后。
116. The growing popularity of computer-based activities was widely expected to result in a decline in television viewing, since it had been assumed that people lack sufficient free time to maintain current television-viewing levels while spending increasing amounts of free time on the computer. That assumption, however, is evidently false: in a recent mail survey concerning media use, a very large majority of respondents who report increasing time spent per week using computers report no change in time spent watching television.
In order to evaluate the argument, it would be most useful to determine which of the following?

A. Whether the survey collected information about the amount of money respondents spent on free-time media use
B. Whether the amount of time spent watching television is declining among people who report that they rarely or never use computers

D. Whether a large majority of the computer owners in the survey reported spending increasing amounts of time per week using computers

我认为题目是想表达：开的新店如果是非折扣店就是加强原文结论；如果是折扣店，就说明不是竞争不过C，可能是竞争不过S才倒闭。所以削弱了

ls太复杂了，按照lawer的方法，这明显是个类比类的weaken 答案是说明前后两个事物本质不同从而削弱文章的这类比较一个是折扣店一个是非折扣店

这里，原文最后几句话是不是理解为，五年之内因为c店，一个不打折商店，的开张，一个新的商店在原来关闭的打折店的地址开张了，而且这个新的商店是因为竞争不过c店。
问削弱从这里入手，原文并没有说新开的商店是打折的还是不打折的，如果是打折的商店，那么又要跟s竞争，所以就不会开在那了，削弱。。
我也不清楚这道题，希望有人评论我说的对不对，欢迎留言。。
