诶呀谢谢！ 原来是这么理解的，是one wolf for every 39 square miles. 不是one wolf /for every 39 square miles. SC中split点太多啦，老是往平行上看（好找....） 然后就“自我”断句了没跟随作者本身的意思。再次感谢，也给我答题提了个醒！
我的分析： 由于“A wildlife expert predicts”，所以应该是一般时态的“will”，而不是过去时态的“would”。 得到D、E两个备选项 选项E：(E) will fail if the timber wolf density in that region were more 中，if 引导的从句，density是主语，单数名词，和were矛盾，是致命错误。 只能是D
