不懂D为什么不可以。是不是so多余呢。谢谢先！

个人感觉 refused 和persisted 意思对不上。

D肯定是不正确的！这个考题是as和like的混合考题，as结构和like结构都有可能成为正确答案。
两种结构的用法是
Like A, B do
As a do, B do
这里的两中结构必须保证A和B两个物体是同类的物体才可以，否则这两个结构都不正确。
见文中的D选项，A = "the Scandinavians"；而B = "Italians’ disregard"。两者显然是不可以进行比较的，所以这个是一定错误的。
同样的道理A,B,C全错，只有E是可能的选项。因为只有refusual才可以和disregard进行比较。所以一定选E。（应该不会错吧，如果有错，请跟贴）

just as A do sth, so B do sth; just as A do sth, as B do sth; Just as A do sth, so too do b sth(倒装）. 这三个搭配在GMAT中经常出现，不能说是错的。D的错误主要是比较主体不对等。
