这里是not ... but平行对称结构。

如果前面是does not represent, 后面必须是but represent。那么represent重复了两次，不简洁。B选项体现了书面表达的简洁。

我又总结了一个idea，不知道对不对，望nn指教

1，verb + not + noun ,   but + noun

2,  do not verb1 + noun, but verb2 + noun

呵呵，不用总结，发现这个规律就可以了，看起来顺眼，读起来顺口。
