yes. what you have pointed out is a legitimate split in this question.
a "weight" can be "less"; a "weight" CANNOT be "lighter".

you may think this way: whenever we say something is heavy or light, we are talking about its weight. Therefore, the idea of "weight" is already incorporated in the word "light". Consequently, you cannot simultaneously say "weight" and "light" - an absolute error of REDUNDANCY.

Similarly, the following sentences are WRONG:
Liu Xiang's speed is very fast.
Yao Ming's height is very tall.
