Leaching, the recovery of copper from the drainage water of mines, as a method of the extraction of minerals, it was well established as early as the eighteenth century, but until about 25 years ago miners did not realize that bacteria take an active part in the process.

答案:c

我觉得语句的意思是这个方法是早在18世纪建立的，强调了建立的时间
而C的意思却有改变，早在十八世纪，这已经是一个建立地很完善的method。
相比之下，我觉得E更好啊，虽然时态有待商榷，但是逻辑意思没有改变呀。

我的想法是E中的established有修饰a method of mineral extraction的歧义，而实际上是修饰leaching，而且没有明确的时间标志说明需要用过去完成时。

本题答案在C和E之间争论，我本人倾向E
因为as early as 作为副词修饰established可行，修饰was系动词的，从来没有见过

根据简洁有效的原则，选C，为什么把well-established后置呢

well-established后置了as early as...才能更明确地修饰这个动作啊，我觉得这样才能符合原句意思吧
否则as early as..就变成了修饰主句谓语was了
open to discuss..

c项简写出来是： A was B as early as the eighteenth century. 别扭~ 总觉得此句没完。求指点。要不就此题有问题。

i prefer E as well. agree with #6 and #4.

as for the tense, "until about 25 years ago", can this serve as an indicator of past prefect tense?
