（B）不缺主语，主语是the United Sates, 只是开头的倒装结构没有必要（倒装后强调的是for about four cents an acre）。最后and it bought表达awkward。

double在这道题中做动词，more than doubling its size and bring......做前面一系列内容的结果状语，表伴随。
