这道题纠结了很久，搜了半天都想不明白，请大家帮忙

(D) installing two fans, and then carrying through a duct

(E) installing two fans, and a duct carrying

为什么选A呢 then installing和整个句子是什么关系呢

方式状语并列，installing和putting保持一致。
a duct that carried .... 是that引导的限制性定从修饰duct。

首先then 是副词绝对后面不能加句子。。因为不是连词所以BC错
D肯定错了。。乱了都。。
E呢很明显。。如果E对的话installing 将做伴随状语，，也就是省钱的同时就安装，，原文的意思是。。通过***省了钱，然后（取而代之的）安装了**和**。。逻辑错了

and, or, yet, but, then都可以做连词，用then的话有强调一个先后顺序的意思。
then之前如果加上and 变成and then的话，就是and 连词，then副词了。

“then可以做连词”来源于金山词霸。。。。好吧，现在存疑了。。

then在所有的美国字典里，都是adv adj　n，根本没有连词，你说的在金山里面是and then 此外的意识。　其实这里面要不就是一个词组算，要不就是一个副词。

记得以前老师教的连词不就是"fanboys"么。。里面不包括then啊。。这题是1000SC上的吧， 1000SC有过不少争议题了。。。不过如果真出这题还是会选A
