答案是C，D选项中Partially destroyed though it had been,这样的表达是否正确？？如果要倒装，应该如何表达？？

首先，对于倒装结构和正常语序，我们了解，前者的语气比后者的语气要来得强烈，所以，在原句没有表达倒装时，而且正常语序没有致命错误的时候，应该优选与原句比较一致的语气结构。
其次，D选项不仅仅在倒装上有缺陷，其主句的时态也是其致命错误。

那么是不是说：抛开原句不谈，Partially destroyed though it had been，the archaeologists were able to infer。。。。这个表达是没有问题的？？？
