在很多地方发现名词短语的独立结构中一般都用a而不是the，但在215题中用了the,我觉得不定冠词a更顺, 谁能解释一下谢谢先.

many thanks to bluestonel, i carefully compare the three sentences, it seems to be so:
名词短语修饰前面的整个句子时,用a; 修饰前面的名词短语时, 用the.

I know the description about "there be" in the book of LZM, but i'm not sure whether it can apply to every place. anyway, thanks a lot!

有点犯晕了，在这个句子中，后面的an idea是用来修饰前面的the idea of single common language. 为什么不用 the idea, some believe, that has in the past been crucial...... ???
崩溃ing.
