查了下白勇，

说similar to the way 表示动作的相似性，不简洁，应该用as 替换。（另外：xdf经验规律，similar to 放在句首永远错，即使是放在分句的句首）

实际上这道题目，易混淆的在c 和E，like 和as 的用法。

like比较的事物要对等，而此处fruit并不是真正的呼吸，而只是一种生理过程，所以不能用like

用as ＋句子 且要补出助动词 do。

我想知道A错误的原因。。

不知道是不是没有similar to the way...的说法，查到的是A is similar to B in many ways, in a similar way.

还有结构上，形容词短语后置修饰有没有什么特殊的地方，会不会引起歧义?

这题越来越confused了，

句个例子，虽然和上题不是很匹配:

126. More than thirty years ago Dr. Barbara McClintock, the Nobel Prize winner, reported that genes can "jump," as pearls moving mysteriously from one necklace to another.

Choice B, the best answer, correctly and idiomatically uses the preposition like to introduce a comparison that is expressed , in a prepositional phrase. In A, as is used unidiomatically; in comparison, as is properly employed as a conjunction introducing a subordinate clause. Choices C, D, and E are all faulty because the verb do suggests that the migrating pearls are presented as a real phenomenon, not as a figurative illustration. Also, in D, like is used ungrammatically to introduce a subordinate clause (pearls do ...); and in E, the phrase some other one, substituted for another, is awkward and wordy.

联想到此题，just as human beings do when they breathe，我觉得这里也是一个打比方，so what does the word "do" mean here? Is it reasonable?但是这里不好排除，因为人是有呼吸这个动作的。

我觉得E很啰嗦。。

Although fruit can no longer grow once it is picked, it continues for some time to respire, taking in oxygen and giving off carbon dioxide, just as human beings do when they breathe.

而且这里do按语法逻辑意思上说，应该是对应前面的respire, 这样一来human beings respire when the breathe. 很redundant阿.

句子的意思上讲，应该是水果呼吸(的过程-taking in oxygen and giving off carbon dioxide)与人呼吸很类似，我越来越觉得A对了。

个人愚见，不知mm同意否

我觉得第一题里面，确确实实两个事物不对等，只是个比喻。E中的do指代前面plant z做的一系列动作（respire,呼出CO2，吸入O2），do 一定要加，因为as+句子，而非like＋名词，没有do 就没有谓语动词。

而similar to，可以在这儿理解成同位语结构,在逻辑意思上修饰前面整句话，而在语法中，同位语只可修饰主语或宾语，不可修饰从属成分，所以在语法上讲是错的。（我猜这也就是为什么xdf讲similar to 在句首错的原因）

mm举的第二题，在句中明确提到gene jump, 而pearls moving, 是对等的，所以用like，而且这儿似乎是like A,B do结构的扩展。即A后面还要分词修饰

我觉得E如果是 as do human beings对，

as do when human beings breathe,do指代前面的respire, respire = breathe,不能说和人的呼吸一样，当人们呼吸时，严重罗索。。

我觉得是过程方式比，taking in oxygen and giving off carbon dioxide，而不是呼吸比

yeah,that's why I cite the example OG-10-126  the verb do suggests that the migrating pearls are presented as a real phenomenon, not as a figurative illustration. ,but here human beings are not inanimate so I am not definitely sure whether "do" in 81 is reasonable in this sense. But  I am sure that the "do" is redundant in the above structure as human beings do(respire) when human beings breathe.

I disagree with choice C coz, the gerund "the breathing of human beings" is not parellel to the participle phrase "taking in oxygen and giving off carbon dioxide", which I believe that is the actual compared point.

我觉得同位语其实是插入语，只要有解释说明需要，都可以插入，嘿嘿，这就是为什么该死的出题人设这么多的障碍。
