以下例子是Ron解答中的举例：

i can lift more weight at the gym thanmy brother.
i can lift more weight at the gym thanmy brother can.

在这几个例子中我可以清晰的把比较的对象标识出来，可是在93题中貌似比较的结构没有这么清晰，读着感觉很顺耳，意思也能理解，可就是分析结构分析不出来，请问哪位牛牛可以帮我详细的分析一下这个比较的结构？

还有就是很非常十分疑惑的一点就是，在比较结构中，哪些可以省略哪些不可以省略？？

就拿93题来说吧，我总觉得不应该是（现在不这么觉得了...）

Heating-oil prices are expected to be higher this year than ~~those of~~ last year

Or

Heating-oil prices are expected to be higher this year than ~~they were~~ last year

求牛牛指导~~~很纠结，希望明早起来能看到答案~~~

这个是对的，但是在题目中的形式就相当于Price 和Last year做对比了，所以不行

in some cases you can simplify verb at the end of a sentence, "to", "have", and even the "also" in a "not only... but also" connection.

in problem 93 there are two parallel structures: 1) heating-oil prices.. higher this year than last year. 2) Refiners ARE paying more than they WERE (paying) last year, the (paying) is simplified here.

额...两个平行可以看出啦，或者说理解出来，可是结构分析不出来，请问您能帮我分词结构么？？就是在句子中标出前后的两个比较对象~不慎感激。。。

查阅了og的解释，The sentence connects acomparison between this year's and last year's heating-oil prices with a comparison between this year's and last year's crude-oil prices.

个人认为关于这里的两个比较，第一个比较其实是省略了they were , 表示一种状态的可以省略，因为是be higher，而后面的paying 是一种动作，所以不省略they were,个人愚见。。

the omitted word here is just “year”.
there's no problem with tense shifting here, since infinitives don't have a tense (i.e., "to be" is neither anchored in the present nor anchored in the past).
觉得挺有道理哈~~
