For sinus pain, three out of four hospitals give their patients Novex. So when you want the most effective painkiller for sinus pain, Novex is the one to choose.
Which of the following , if true, most seriously undermines the advertisement's argument?
(A) Some competing brands of painkillers are intended to reduce other kinds of pain in addition to sinus pain
(B) Many hospitals that do not usually use Novex will do so for those patients who cannot tolerate the drug the hospitals usually use
(C) Many drug manufacturers increase sales of their products to the hospitals at the lowest price the manufacturers can afford
(D) Unlike some competing brands of painkillers ,Novex is available from pharmacies without a doctor's prescription
(E) In clinical trials Novex has been found more effective than competing brands of painkillers that have been on the market longer than Novex

The answer is D. But i think C is the better, for if the manufacturers are willing to sell the medicine at a low price,then the hospitals will be more likely to purchase this medicine. So the hospitals will be more likely to use this medicine to kill sinus pain because not of the effection of the Novex but of the low price of the medicine.Furthermore I am confused that what is undermined in the stem by D choice.

Let me try this. C is not correct because when hospitals give patients medicine, they won't consider how much it it. They only consider whether you have insurance or not.
For D, I guess because it's easy for hospitals to give medicine to their patients if it doesn't need doctor's prescription, that will save doctor's time & cost. So, D is telling us it is not because of the effectiveness of Novex, it is because it is easy to use.

The correct answer should focus on the comparison between the mentioned medicine and others.For C, if the sentence confirm the medicine is the only one that enjoy low price, it would be right. Otherwise, C could not explain the medicine's popularity .For D, the higher availability of the medicine over others is obvious and overwhelming, and thus undermine other possible explanations.

Why C is not the best answer ?

Thinking in this way, we can only prove that N might be sold in a lower price to the hospitable, but we can't conclude that whether the quantity of N be bought could determine the frequencies H use those drugs nor could we determine how much quantity of N be bought.
