ap104, I know lots of my classmates ( both US and Chinese) do not have any SCM related working experinece before. Some US students do not even have any full-time working experinece.  However, they all successed in getting this program, following concentration on SCM.

People here believe in "going with your passion". Therefore, I think the most important thing is that you show your passion on SCM, including what you understand about SCM and why you like to dedicate to it. Of course, you need to present some transferable skills you learned from your pervious experience (if you had some), which would be cruciel for a good leader, as well.  Keep in mind that any MBA program would desire candidates with the potential to be great leaders more than those having only functional skills/professional qulifications.

小弟在上週和MSU的representitive Ms. Melanie Johnston (Assistant Director, MBA Admissions) 面試。小弟因工作的關係，預計到12月底才會考TOEFL和GMAT。和Melanie面試過程當中，她對我工作的狀況以及resume很滿意，並提供一些條件。

小弟目前從事IT manufacturing 的工作，主要為Sales, 但也牽涉很多manufacturing 以及SCM的領域。有些申請學校的問題希望能私下請教您，不知可否方便提供聯絡的方式。

本人是在零售业做SOURCING的,请问LZ目前在读的是否有零售业背景的呢? 这样背景的毕业后出路如何呢?

另外,提点建议,LZ是否也谈谈MSU的CULTURE,LOCATION,CAMPUS ACTIVITY 等等,也好让我们对MSU多点感性认识啊?

No, I do not know any current students getting working experience in MMs but some have experience with CPG companies.

As far as I know Target has an on-campus recruiting program (SCM) here. Wal-mart normally hire from Top 10 only.  Weeks ago one 1st year Russian girl got an offer from Bustbuy but she is in finance track. I have no idea how she initated contact with the company, probably in some national MBA career fair.

I personally think it not easy to find a job in MMs because most of them do not sponsor H-1B visa for MBA international students.  Some my classmate even failed to get an interview due to the foreign identity.

As for general information about MSU, I will try to provide some here when I get more time.  Anyway you can always go to the website www.msu.edu to check out what is of interest to you.

楼上学姐，偶对MSU非常有兴趣，毕竟MSU在SCM方面超强。 本人 G：700实在不高，T估计能免，2年IT，半年INTERNATIONAL AFFAIR。MSU录的可能多大？得到学校FUNDING可能有多少（本人还是很需要FUNDIN的）？毕竟我认为中国人还是在和中国人的圈子里竞争，能说一说去年录取的中国人背景情况吗？谢谢！

哈哈，如果根据你的两句介绍，我就可以告诉你录取的可能性，拿奖的可能性，我一定是在骗人了。看你的G和工作背景应该是可以了，关键就是你的材料和面试了。

去年录的中国学生的情况大致是G>=700, 工作的时间比较长些4－10年吧.

去年的中国学生多多少少都有点FUNDING吗？偶也不想多要，毕竟背景不强，能免个1W一年就很满意拉！
