Can anybody please explain why, in D, "Have" can be used instead of were.

THanks.

have强调对现在的影响!

现在完成时对于不可延续的动作,表示过去的动作一直影响至今,而一般现在时对于不可延续的动作,表示动作发生在过去,和现在没有任何关系。

BCE错误是否主要在于谓语动词都为单三形式?而原句中的主语中心词为Fossils,所以错误。而A选项中的IT是否指代错误,一点拙见!

这题只要抓住中心词是fossils,则A,B中it指代错,C,E中was错

D;

A-incorrect use of past tense "made" when, apparently, the sloth continues to be the earliest known mammal of the Greater Antilles; a condition which requires the progressive tense "making" to accurately relate the ongoing nature of the condition;

B-"they" has no clear referent, plus, the construction is awkward in the terminal clause;

C-subject-verb agreement error--"Fossils" is plural, "was" is singular;

E-combines the problems of A and C.

have been is suspicious anyway

Before reading the 5 options, notice the errors are:

  1. “, and dated”. “dated” should refer to the fossils, but not the sloth.
  2. probably “it”: has no clear referent.

Now start with B: “has” is wrong, same logic error.

C: “was” should be “were”

D: correct

E: same logic error.
