关于该题的C选项，看了Ron大神的一些讲解，觉得简直颠覆了认知，以前建立起来的关于comma+ving的知识体系都成一团浆糊了

之前看到2008语法笔记上总结的 comma+ving前的句子，如果它是一个主谓宾结构，那么comma+ving优先做状语修饰前面句子的主语和动词，要么是结果状语，要么是伴随状语。如果它是一个主系表结构，那么comma+ving就会变成定语功能，因为此时前面的句子不是在发出动作，而是一个状态，用状语再去修饰的话显得不符合逻辑。
所以就该题的C选项而言，even tiny islets can be....应该是主系表结构吧，那么stimulating的功能应该是定语，那么应该会是就近修饰new martime code呀，感觉没什么有歧义的问题。但Ron大神说stimulating修饰的是前面整个句子，逻辑主语tiny iselts是不符合逻辑的....
但是，就算stimulating是做状语修饰前面整句话，如果把它理解成做结果状语修饰，那么tiny iselts做逻辑主语为什么又不符合逻辑呢？结果状语又没有要求逻辑主语alone产生结果，是逻辑主语发生的动作，做的一系列的时间产生的结果，所以tiny islets是什么什么的基础，这个激发了什么什么，感觉逻辑上没有问题呀?

Both A and B must be true!!!
A: it MODIFIES THE ENTIRE ACTION of the preceding clause, and it APPLIES TO THE SUBJECT of that clause;
the subject of the preceding clause should also make sense as the agent of the VING action.
逻辑主语是SVO这个process抽象出来的名词
主语发出了第一个动作，由此产生了第二个动作所以，第二个动作是由主语间接发出的, 也就是说"applies to the subject”

B: One of the following is true:
(1) the “Ving" action is SIMULTANEOUS with, and SUBORDINATE to, the main action;
说白了就是各种状语，how/why/where/when，要想用这种状语，ving至少要能回答上述任一个问题，否则就不会是状语。

(2) the “Ving" action is a DIRECT AND IMMEDIATE CONSEQUENCE of the main action.
说白了就是描述其间接后果。

另外在搜54题解释时候搜到了ron对于ving是不是只能修饰preceding clause的说法，貌似和baby的例子相悖，放在这里。

我觉得吧看到already应该用完成时..然后stimulating的逻辑主语应该是tiny islets,题意应该是tiny islets可以被当做基础balablabla这个条款激发后续而不是tiny islets激发.至于语法笔记那个主系表结构..我想如果是定语的话不要那个逗号不是更好，当然already在那就很怪

搜ving你就全懂了，另外放弃语法笔记吧。

逗号加ving都是做状语，“主谓宾，ving“表示结果状语或者伴随状语；”主系表，ving“表示对前句的补充说明；
ving做定语只能不加逗号，或者在句中前后逗号分开，在句中通常是错的，向前可以修饰名词向后可以修饰动词做状语叫夹心修饰。
本题C选项在句尾的ving我认为不能做定语，另外C本身就是错误选项，把句子结构和重心改的一塌糊涂，你仔细分析他的ving没有太大意义啊，他这么用ving就是个错误用法。
