标题: [求助]OG182题

小弟是新人，OG才过第一遍（语法部分），这道题实在是搞不清楚，所以拿到CD上来请教（不要笑我哈）

这是OG上的182题

Consumers may not think of household cleaning products to be hazardous substances, but many of them can be harmful to health, especially if they are used improperly.

答案是D，但我怎么看怎么觉得E是对的。象D那样的表述不会让人觉得后面的them是指consumers么？前面有类似的很多这种题。关于平行结构我想我大致是搞得很清楚了，但到这让我对自己又产生了怀疑。

尽管OG对E的解释是wordy和awkward，LZM也说什么主动比被动好。我还是读着E要顺口一些。既然是OG的答案，那肯定是我错了，谁能帮我讲解一下啊？

D不会产生指代不清，因为用的是 a consumer 单数，所以they不会指代consumer.

同意楼上说法,平行不能凌驾于歧义之上.

没有什么一定的规则,在gmat中,切记!

可是如果将(D) 改为 consumers may not think of household cleaning products as句子还是正确地么？是否有them指代consumers 的歧异，尽管nonunderline 部分有they指代cleaning products！

另外，如果没有单复数和指代歧异的前提下，主语为Consumers 或A consumer是不是都可以？

D的优势就是可以避免指代的歧义, 后面的If they, they优先指代主句主语, 如果是consumer的话会产生潜在的歧义, 所以改成单数最好.

那E怎么就 wordy and awkward in its use of the passive voice 呢? 是不是光凭语感呢? 还是有什么规律关于什么时候用主动,什么时候用被动。

i think, under most of the situations, ETS doesn't like passive voice. I'll avoid to choose a passive voice answer when there's a better one. Besides, E causes the confusion by having two possible referents: consumers, and products.

这里不是很明白，既然them和they 都是优先指代主语，那么主语不是最好为household cleaning products 比较好吗？而且这里指代并不会出现歧义，by consumer 是一个插入成份，不存在指代问题.

我想这里不管指代substances或products应该都是一样的，因为think of x as y，x视为y，两者约略相等吧，所以og的解释上没有特别去说明这里的指代有问题

最大的问题应该还是主被的关系，e因此被排除

如果象楼上说排除被动为主要依据，但是若代入（E）Household cleaning products may not be thought of, by consumers, as
hazardous substances, but many of them can be harmful to health, especially if they are used improperly. 前后主谓都是product，不是很清晰吗？

没人觉得D的a consumer很奇怪么？求NN解答。谢谢。我反而觉得一定要追求E的指代歧义，有点牵强啊。
