To most extent, JD applying has nothing with your working experience.

two crucial factors: LSAT score & GPA

surely, great passion would be a boost.

wish u great  luck!

I saw some data about the recruitment of the top 10 law school, Yale accept only 20% of the applicant whose lsat score is more than 170. what is the other factors about JD?

some body said that working experience, living experience, actually is important if it can show your diversity.

You background/diversity is always a factor.

But your GPA and LSAT are always No.1 important among all the factors.

for instance, if your numbers put you into the top 20% of a school's applicants pool, all other things aobut you would seem unimportant.

if your numbers are at its median level or below, your background and experience would probably make a difference. even at this point, you would be competing against those who have similar numbers, not those have better ones.

I hate GPA, really

Obviously people saw the positive correlation between GPA and top 10, let's say.

Rationally, a good GPA is a step closer to top 10.

Emotionally, I believe a top 10 goal stimulate a good GPA.

To reach a goal efficiently, people set the goal first, then do the necessary preparation.

No offense, many chinese is doing upside down. For instance, a 3D animation company want to enter hollywood, they will find out what Universal, MGM, Paramont would like to see, then they borrow money and make demos to show their competence. Oppositely, many Chinese companies are making demos in the first place, cause they are expecting some big guy see their potential and make the investment.

Please, svp, don't take it personal.

If a goal can boost your motivation for a higher GPA, it is nevertheless a good thing. Set a goal, and make effort to achieve it. This is the way many people come from one success to another.

of course, studying hard for a good GPA should not be a means in the end, as we did in high school, where the scores were the only thing people care.

if i knew i want to go to law shcool one day, i might have studied harder and ended up with a higher GPA. i wish i had started thinking about law school earlier.

Why, I wonder, should people be troubled by their past? It is true that GPA is a represent of the ability of study, but it can only show parts of a person as different school scores differently. More important, there is something can't be shown in number but no less important for one than GPA or LSAT.

First stage, compared to most other applicants, you don't have any obvious disadvantages

Second stage, you have outstanding advantages.

i think there're more young people going to law school...

我对楼主的情况倒没那么乐观。 建议楼主要死拼lsat, 不然的话, 可能达不到你的追求。
