Can anyone tell me that if I want to locate a job in consulting industry in London after graduation, which is a better choice?

Also, can anyone who has been/is in the programme share his/her opinions?

Thank you very much!

I would recommend INSEAD & LBS!

If you analyze their career service reports for last year, you will find that they are both strong in consulting industry.

Althouth you may see that a large portion of INSEAD's graduates landed consulting jobs, but do you know that roughly 50% of them were in consulting industry before they go to INSEAD and most of this part of the students are sponsored by their company, therefore go back automatically to continue their career in these consulting companies.

But INSEAD surely has a good reputation in consulting industry.

Why?..The author want to find a job in London. Don't you think Oxford is better than INSEAD for job concern?

OXFORD MBA IS VERY STRONG IN CONSULTING AS WELL. ARE MCKINSEY/BCG/BAIN/LEK/DELOITTE GOOD ENOUGH FOR YOU?

check BW,

10 Ox graduates get a job from Mc  and 4 of them get a job from BCG

Must have been a very good year for Oxford. Do they all work for McKinsey UK?

One of LBS's report states that 96% percent of its 2005 graduates find a job within 3 months after graduation, which is a record for LBS.

Are these the signs of a recovering economy?

many of them are ex-McKinsey or ex-BCG.  economy's recovering, but still need to be careful

Still go back to their old employers after graduation? That's a bit boring.

yes, but not bad if you could be promoted, and if you are sponsored.

bear in mind that if you want to be promoted from an analyst to an associate, MBA is a must, in most cases.

To me, the grass on the other side of the fence always looks greener.

fair enough.  Different people have different purposes of study.  Some for promotion or advancement in career like those consulting firm analysts.  Some for career switch, like you and me.  Some for business circle, like those venture capitalists or entrepreneurs.  Some just for a rest and self-reflection after several years of working.  But you need to start nailing down your career direction after MBA study.  otherwise, it's too late.

I can tell that you are a very career-oriented guy.
作者: modern    时间: 2005-12-13 14:24
MBA -- the degree itself is a "career - oriented" one

BTW, I believe most of Chinese students need to save a lot of money before persuing an MBA, and these students (us) do care about ROI a lot.
