标题: Admission Offer from UIUC - PhD Accounting

I just got the offer this afternoon from UIUC with an annual stipend of $27,000 plus full tuition and partial fee waver.

My background: a bachelor's degree from a US university with one year working experience at a local government.  GMAT 760, GPA 3.9.  I was rejected by Austin's Ph.D program and admitted to their MPA program.  Obviously, I won't go to UT Austin anymore.  The U of Colorado is also very interested in me and invited for a campus visit next week.

Good luck to everybody who is still waiting.

May I ask what was your major for your undergrad? Also, I am guessing you already have US greencard or even citizenship?

不知道你的具体研究方向是什么?面试会涉及专业知识吗?

Does worked experience matter a lot? I am wondering...English is not my native language...but If I earn a US bachelor's degree...Do I have to take TOEFL? Dose UIUC offter any TOEFL waiver?

作者: littleprince198    时间: 2005-5-3 11:31
Most graduate programs will waive the language requirement, i.e. TOEFL,
if you earn your bachelor degree from a four-year US college. You do
have to take GRE/GMAT, though.

Congrats to Armadillo! How do you think your undergrad major helps in
your application? I assume the effects are pretty minor considering
that students can choose whatever major(s) they'd like in a US college
and most liberal arts schools don't even offer accounting as a major.
Please share your thoughts. Thank you.
