标题: Got OSU Fisher waiting list email this morning. Phd in Finance

Got OSU waiting list email this morning, content as follow:

"We are in the middle of the recruiting process.We have made a number of first-round offers to others which we expect to hear back on in the next three weeks. At that point, we will
make a decision on whether to go to a second-round."

Anybody have experience on this situation? How to handle the waiting list situation like this, do I need to contact the PHD admission advisor to further introduce myself? What is the possibility of the waiting list admission?

Anyboby got OSU PHD in finance admission? Please let me know if you are not gonna go there with your offer.

Got denied by Columbia, Duke, UIUC, Rochester. Still waiting for other decisions. PHD in finance is the hardest major to getin, on average, the admission is only 4% (4-5 studetns out of 300 applicants). Congratulation to those who got top 20 business schools offers.

Do you have any interview with OSU? And when did you get information from UIUC, Rochester? I also applied this 3, but heard nothing till now.

anyway, just be patient and dont try to push them, OSU, otherwise they will simply reject you.

No interview from OSU, got Denied from Rochestor, UIUC this monday which is Mar 1

You can keep in touch with OSU during this period, but not in a pushing way. Be nice and confident, but the rest is not up to you. It all depends on whether those who got offers will accept them or not. Many schools have waiting list. Trust me, the schools are in a position no better than you are. If all people in the first round decide to reject the offers, the schools are in a very bad position, since by that time some people on the waiting list might have decided to go somewhere too if they get something. The schools might end up with nothing. So the schools will try to work with you too.
