为什么C 不对？

个人感觉but后的分句主语不太清楚即many of them的them指代不清

里面复数的只有people 呀？

but 后面的分句需要一个明确的主语如果with表示伴随和修饰主语伴随的目标亟需明确而many of them又指代回去感觉有点别扭哈
