标题: TOEFL 543 ,GMAT 610+, can i apply for CEIBS ?

i believe to take MBA program in CEIBS is a more reasonable and reward investment , and did not want to retake the test of GMAT and TOEFL . but i am not sure whether to apply for CEIBS before the last dedline is possible , and wanna to know whether the interview is in english as well as whether the least requirement of TOEFL is asked by the school , even through i did not found it in the website .

Dear brother, do not take it for granted that your are better than others in work experience, the so-called "background". Please forgive me for speaking so bluntly! Keep it in mind that China is a country with huge population, and hence with huge number of elites who could have had decent GMAT score or handsome work experience, or, intimidatingly, both of them. Just be advised to reexamine the “ji jing zone”, you would find too many 710, 720, even 790. It is absolutely wrong to assume that the excellence of your background can easily offset the disadvantage of your test score. It is too risky.

However, do not miscomprehend my point. Though the chance is slim, I think so, the chance still remains. Take risks, yet, at the same time, be sure that there are alternatives that can back you up when necessary. Considering that your time is tight, you could apply CEIBS and prepare to retake the test simultaneously. Take efforts to land the interview and “show off” your sparkling facets in the interview, and, let’s posit, if the admission officers are not content with your GMAT score, you could promise them to submit a better one as soon as you can, then do your best to discharge your promise and demonstrate your potential. One of my friends managed two years ago to get a handsome offer from a handsome school in USA by such approach. (unluckily, he forsook it because of visa, poor guy)

hi, CEIBS-2005 brother,very appreciate your kindness! i really disgust to evaluate the applicant by the silly test of GMAT . everyone knows that anyone who have sufficient practice on GAMT will got a not bad result like 700+ , but not everyone have so many time to do so. especially for me , eight year ago past the band-4 test with a mark of 62 and never touch english again untill last year , to get high score on GMAT is very time-cosuming . just because do not want spend too much time on the test , i decide to apply for the native school . anyway , i will contact the admission officer and get some suggestion .

Come on guy, be confident with yourself. Your gmat is enough to appy for CEIBS even though it is not a plus in your application. Put more energy in your essay and interview preparation. Just give youself an opportunity and who knows what will happen.

yeah, man, i do agree that evaluating people only by one criterion is not wise, but GMAT is indeed good for our english fuency, particularly for written english. therefore it is no use. several years ago when i was preparing GRE, it regarded it as rubish, but now i eventually perceive that it is very useful.

anyway, you make the decision, don't you?

fly028, you dont have to submit toefl score if you dont have one or your score is not satisfactory. for gmat score of 610, it is a qualified score for application; but you will increase your chance of being admitted with a higher score.

不是很乐观，除非你有很强的专业能力和行业背景。虽然说只要花时间，GMAT人人都能考到700+，但并不是每个人花的时间是一样的。

为什么不申请先呢，同时准备考试嘛。就考试成绩来言，你也的确需要在英语上补强，不然入学后有可能会吃力。即使现在不被录取，有一次被拒的纪录也不会影响你以后的申请。

呵呵，欧洲区有个女的GMAT５９０，　拿到了牛津和剑桥的OFFER，不过她有十四年的跨国公司的经验，背景实在是很强．如果你的背景也不错，可以先用６１０分去申请，TOEFL就不用报了，反正他们也不要求．

如果有时间和精力，还是建议去重考一次，毕竟中欧的录取工作是打分制的，高的GMAT分数会增加你在相应部分的分值．anyway,祝好运！

Cambridge and Oxford are mediocre in business school education. LBS and INSEAD are better. Offers from Cambridge and Oxford do not mean much. My advice is to take TOEFL and GMAT again if you want to apply for CK. I do not know of CEIBS's standard.

If you are self-confidence in your background, go ahead!

GMAT is one way to prove your English ability. I think it is enough if you can meet the least requirement. MBA is the professional education. The strong working experience or backgroud is better than others.

Neverthless, you can apply the BiMBA. I know they will accept the applicant with strong backgroud, eventhough his GMAT is less than 600.

Self-confidence should be based on self-awareness, otherwise it could turn out to be insufferable presumption.

Self-awareness means you have to be sure where your competitive advantage lies in and what is your weakness.

答案很簡單

再考GMAT --> 錯過deadline --> 錄取機會(0%)

申請 --> GMAT&TOEFL分數低 --> 錄取機會(10%)

樓主的心情我知道,因為我的狀況很接近,其實上面的推理樓主應該知道

機會其實不是沒有,但很低就是了,但在數學上,0和0.00001的差別是很大的.

T的分数建议不用给了，先把资料交上去，马上准备重考G，在面试前拿到G的成绩，这样可以以最近的G的成绩进行面试。
