我的面试大概50分钟左右吧，先是自我介绍，然后问一些和工作相关的具体问题，由于我的interviewer的行业和我的基本相同，因此问了许多关于行业的具体的问题以及对行业发展的看法等。我想每个人的具体情况不同，因此面试的问题也会有所不同的。当然Why LBS, Why MiF, What will you contribute to the MiF programme, and your career goals等问题你需要认真准备。

我也做过几个美国学校MBA的面试，比较而言，MBA面试更强调Leadership, teamwork, communication skills等，而MiF的面试更着重于你对工作以及行业的认识。

Alumni一般都很nice, take it easy.

推荐信最好是目前或者前任老板写吧，他们更了解你的能力和经历。

如果可能，就不要学校的教授写了，毕竟毕业那么多年了，对你的近况并不十分了解，因此说服力也不是很强。

好象MiF没有具体的录取要求，近几年录取者的GMAT平均分数在690左右，但中国申请者最好再高一些。TOEFL至少要600以上吧，最好能达到620以上。工作经验要求2年以上，但录取者的平均工作时间是5-6年，90%以上的录取者的工作背景与Finance相关。

以上只是大概的介绍，具体信息您可以到学校网站查询。

I am currently RM (loan officer) in a european commercial bank and has 5 years W/E.

If My goal is advance to senior management (Branch Manager etc), do you think the program fit?

Or, an MBA is better?

Hi Dinno,

If you are just looking for a promotion in your own area, I would say doing an MBA or a Mif might be too expensive. I myself was from a commercial bank before my MBA at LBS. I had extensive contacts with management of foreign banks(like HSBC, Citibank, StandardChartered...) operating in China before. I have seen experiences counted much more than a degree for a senior position in their China operation. Having said that, I know a Mifft graduate who is now working in CitiBank Shanghai Br. But most likely, graduates from MIFFT or MBA from LBS, if they are for finance jobs, are looking for positions in investment banking, fixed income, equity sales and trading, equity research(either buy side or sell side), wealth management... where returns on your investment in study seem to be higher.

Just my two cents.

jy533谢谢，不过现在还没到最后。我的背景情况，以供参考:上海某TOP大学的研究生毕业，在某商业银行工作8年。ACCA，今年的志奋领。GPA较高。GAMT690，IELTS6.5。

I also got the admission from LBS MIF a couple days before.

Don't worry about the interview things. Be your self and convince them that you are perfectly fit to their program and release their concerns arised from your application answers. In all, just be yourself.

LBS is really a student oriented school. you will find that when you get the admission!

收到的来信了!我将拿到LBS的MiF的offer!

很开心,1月份才开始申请,准备考G也完全只因为LBS给我回信要GMAT成绩。整个过程中自己都觉得时间那么紧,没有必胜把握。现在成功了，很高兴和几位成为同学。同时，还要感谢一路上大家的热心指点，在考G中受惠于CD，节约了大量时间，感谢CD！也感谢LBS的MITRA和PETER，非常高效和细心，成为我希望进LBS的又一动力（顺带做一下广告）。

I think the tuition is too expensive to take the offer from LBS. How do everybody else finance your study? Fully depends on HSBC loan?

It is sooooo glad to find your guys here. congratulations to all the MiF2006 sutdents and thank you for ur kind help for us.

I just got the MiF interview invitation yersterday. Actually I did not work every hard on the application because my work was extremely busy. I almost gave it up. Now it is a surprise that I can got the interview invitation. I am wondering if it means that I have 80% or 90% to get the offer? Or most candidates can get the interview chance?

To be honest, now I feel very nervous. It might because I didnt expect that I could get the chance.^&^ lease give me some advice on interview and I do appreciate your help.

上周参加面试，面试官说他完全支持我进入lbs mif，他也估计周五的committee应该能给我offer。正在热切等待周五学校来信。希望能成功。我的面试官说上一个被他面式的是北京银行的，不知是哪位。

有一个从LBS回来的有如下说法，说MIF分配不如MBA，但我看过网站，MIF大部分去知名金融机构，不知你们有何看法。不知是不是实情，希望不是给你们泼冷水。

我不清楚MSF是什么？是否Master in Finance之类的。如果是的话，那毫无疑问是MBA金融方向好。我刚从LBS回来，我和那边的中国籍MIF及MBA交流很多，同样是LBS毕业生，找工作的时候MIF很困难，而MBA轻松得多，多数进投行，在香港工作。你说差别大不大？

MIF 的确是学得专业，但就是因为太专业了，投行才不要。投行要的人是综合人才，我以前就是在投行做，说实话，投行做得事情，有90%和金融没有关系，而是更多的和战略，市场营销，企业运营等相关。MBA学得杂，正好符合投行的这种需求。MIF则比较尴尬。做投行不行，那是不是可以做金融产品开发和研究呢？也还是不行，那是因为他们又懂得太少，做金融产品开发的，都是数学博士，不需要MIF。所以，说来说去是MIF的定位不好，不上不下。

MiF相对MBA找工作较难的原因主要在于MiF是一年,而MBA两年.MBA会有intern的机会,而MiF没有.

但MBA2年成本较大,包括sunk cost和opportunity cost.MiF相对找工作较难,但基本上都回找到不错的工作.

记得以前很喜欢看的一部OLIVER STONE导演的WALL STREET,该片拿到奥斯卡奖。里面的银行家说：绝大多数的哈佛MBA还不如一堆狗屎。没错，尽信书则不如无书。无论MBA还是MIF都只是一个平台而已，以后怎么混还得看自己，不要指望上一两年学就能怎么的。看看历史就知道，学富五车的贵族可以成就大业，市井流氓也可以成就霸业，英雄本就不问出处。我们这些出国留学的，不过是奋力投向时代的洪流而已。

可能没说清楚，有种说法讲LSE（伦敦政治经济学院）的Department of Accounting and Finance在英国排第一，所以想了解一下，LSE的金融方面的硕士和LBS的MIF各自的特点和职业发展。

曾经想过这个专业，但是这个专业似乎有很多accounting的内容，accounting 可不是mif强调的。另外，lse很多都是应届生，出来找工作都是从头做起。在北京上海见过多个lse的，工资的确不高。还有应届生去咨询公司拒了lse的

我是LSE
FE的.LBS是MBA式的教育,LSE是严谨的学术式教育,学得东西不多,但是可以专得很深.可以比较general,也可以很accounting,
更可以很quantitative,做derivative quant,trading,risk
mng等等.LSE这两个专业就是以应届生为主,所以氛围和LBS是不同的,刚出来找的工作肯定比LBS的人要差.好处嘛,年轻,校友多,水也更深些,呵

我都30了，是不是去LSE可能性不大？我的背景还可以。特别LSE的风格我很喜欢，我学过法律和金融，比较match。我想去读Accounting and Finance 或者Accounting and Law。如果年龄是个问题就只能考虑LBS的MIF了。

其实我也喜欢lse, 甚至是我英国最喜欢的学校之一 - 尤其是在那里能学到很多social science相关的内容。出于实用的角度选了lbs，遗憾啊！不过我倒在上海北京见过4-5个lse的毕业生。以前在伦敦时也见过lse的本科生
