主要现在的目标不是去PE，
还是想趁年轻去IBD锻炼下，感觉IBD出来了去PE应该也不难，而且还会有其他的选择。

最重要的还是你自己的career goal

如果是IBD, 那么找IBD不太需要financial background，所以没必要去PE。
如果是PE，那么跳槽不跳槽我觉得差别也不太大。反倒是你去了PE要justify why mba，pre MBA是PE, POST MBA还是PE，那么你就要说清楚MBA对你的帮助是什么了。

From what you have written, it seems like you should make the transfer now. I can’t say that one or the other is better for the MBA, because both can be good, but it seems like for your personal goals, the transfer makes sense. You have a great opportunity and if you want to move into finance, it will be easier for you to advance, even after your MBA if you have 1-3 years of finance experience under your belt.

跨行業工作經驗和global working experience對一個人的整體成長都挺重要的我覺得哈

of course do the transfer, you will get financial exp + international exp + prestige WE (for working in PE).

对，一个是career goal这个我是明确，我现在考虑在于，
Consulting->PE->MBA->IBD和Consulting->MBA->IBD，哪个path会更好一些，你怎么看？

Actually, the transfer could let me gain the finance experience, but it still difficult to make a choice soon.

楼主的Career Goal是IBD...但是经历都是Consulting...是什么原因想去IBD呢？是否有了解过IBD？其实这个问题要先想清楚，why IBD？毕竟两个行业还是有点区别的。我有认识挺多人其实是从IBD做了几年然后出来做PE的，所以我的感觉是既然有机会直接进PE，为什么还要去MBA？个人观点还是进PE先感受一下，机会难得。个人进IBD最终目标还是往PE里面跳~

个人认为PE - MBA - IBD有点解释不通，因为IBD明显是金融领域的entry level，如果已经有PE，why IBD?

你好！我觉得是这样的：

1. 你的PE是不是国际一线大PE（Blackstone KKR TPG）？如果是的话，pay很高，post mba完全没必要做ibd，甚至读不读mba都要考虑。
2. 如果你的PE是2-3线PE（就是那些内资PE）IBD的pay应该还是会高很多，你有PE的经验对IBD更make sense，所以应该转
3. 你的咨询是不是国际一线大咨询（MBB）？如果是的话，那转不转无妨，因为MBB的人要找IBD很容易，很多transferable skills

去IBD最好的学校：

顶尖MBA：HBS Stanford 要找IBD基本都没问题。

传统金融校：Wharton，Booth, CBS, Tuck, Stern
优势：金融资源比较多
劣势：竞争相对激烈

咨询或者GM学校：Kellogg，Duke, Darden
优势：找IBD的人比较少，容易standout
劣势：金融资源相对少，但仍然很多，只要认真networking，基本没问题
