You can either say: ...plastics are taking more time to deterioate than originally seemed. or: ..., they are finding that...plastics are taking more time to deterioate than it originally seemed (that) they would (find).
"...than they originally seemed." is wrong because "they" refers to "researchers". Remember that the same pronoun must refer to the same thing in one sentence? There is a "they" earlier referring to "researchers". So second "they" referring to "plastics" is wrong. 作者: RenZhen 时间: 2003-3-18 20:25
