Great question, my friend. I wish you had asked this a few weeks ago when you had some time before the deadlines (instead of just a few days!), but better late than never, right!?
Honestly, at this point, I'd drop Columbia. There ARE people that will get in (they wouldn't accept applications if they weren't going to accept more students!) but it's very, very hard. And nearly impossible for international students. That school has rolling deadlines, which means that they are accepting people every day. And that means that every day you wait, there are fewer and fewer spots available. If you're an International Applicant and you want to go to CBS, you gotta apply Early Action, or as close to that as possible. The longer you wait, the harder it is to get in. So, at this point, it's just going to be a VERY slim chance of getting in.
So rather than spread yourself too thin and sacrifice the quality of those other apps, drop CBS and focus all of your attention on Kellogg, Booth and Wharton. Those are VERY tough programs to get into, and you need to make sure you're going in with the best applications possible, my friend. So devote yourself to those, and give them everything you've got. Hopefully you're not just starting on those now, of course!
Good luck!!! Please keep us posted on how it all goes!作者: angelo32 时间: 2015-1-8 19:47
Hi Jon, thank for your post. But as a current MBA candidate in CBS, I have different opinion to some of your statement here.
I have frequent interactions with Admissions Office in CBS. According to my knowledge, I would still encourage students apply for CBS at this moment. A fact is CBS organized webinar/info session for Greater China applicants around mid/late December 2014. This is a signal to encourage applications from Greater China. Also in recent years we do see international students, especially students from Greater China, get accepted in Regular round.
I would agree with you that chance of getting in is smaller as time goes by, since we on a rolling-basis. But I would still encourage those who want to apply to CBS to keep working on the application (and submit ASAP). I would not say anything similar to "nearly impossible".
Please excuse that it is not suitable for me to post data here. But if you have other facts, data or quotation from the Admission Office of CBS, please let people know so they can make a more informed decision.
